9675767-17042 Job Description Step into a meaningful role where youll make a difference in the lives of students by providing expert instruction and support as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time, contract opportunity is available for an immediate start and will continue through the remainder of the school year. Youll work in a collaborative, itinerant setting, traveling between schools in the area to deliver vital services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or equivalent credential, with knowledge of best practices in supporting students who are blind or visually impaired Experience working with K-12 students in an itinerant or resource-setting preferred Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate across multiple sites and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, adaptive materials, and accessible curriculum development Ability to assess student needs, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and monitor progress Commitment to fostering independence, accessibility, and confidence in each students learning journey

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support tailored to individual visual needs across a K-12 caseload Adapt classroom materials and collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations and modifications Implement IEP goals and maintain thorough documentation of student progress Instruct in the use of adaptive technology and orientation/mobility skills where appropriate Serve as a resource for faculty, families, and support staff to ensure an inclusive educational experience

Schedule:
