Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact in the lives of elementary students by supporting their educational journey as a Special Education teacher. Two full-time contract positions are available for passionate educators dedicated to K-5 learners, working 37.5 hours weekly in a supportive school environment. One role focuses on Autistic Support, while the other is dedicated to Learning Support, providing opportunities to work with distinct caseloads and make a significant difference.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher Certification, or near completion (emergency licenses are not accepted) Experience or strong interest in serving K-5 student populations Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and case management Proven ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction and support Collaborative spirit to work with families, students, and multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and maintain compliant IEPs tailored to student needs Manage individual caseloads for either Autistic Support or Learning Support Provide direct instruction to students, recognizing and nurturing individual strengths Conduct assessments and document progress according to educational standards Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success Participate in team meetings, planning, and professional development as required These positions offer a competitive hourly rate, with potential earnings ranging from $38-$54 per hour, reflecting experience and credentials.
