A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to help students make measurable progress—academically, personally, and therapeutically. We want to hear from you! $1,000 bonus for certified teachers or $1,200 for certified special education teachers (applies to positions where these certifications are required) Facilitate lessons to improve individual academic and personal success with specified therapeutic goals and measurable outcomes daily. Prepare and submit lesson plans weekly Coordinate academic tasks with specified objectives and goals to address student's identified needs Document progress notes daily Encourage student participation in all activities and support Behavior Counselor during psycho-educational lessons and activities Communicate regularly with colleagues, school district personnel, and family support groups to ensure positive relationships and quality execution of services Work Schedule Opprotunities for hours Monday-Friday Daytime schedule School year schedule Requirements Education/Training/License/Certification
• Bachelor's Degree in education is required
• PA Certification(s) required: Dual Certification(s) Early Childhood and Elementary Education along with Special Education K-8 or K-12 Secondary Education- Content Specific (ELA, MATH, SCIENCE, HISTORY) Minimum entry rate for special education cert is $27.

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
