The Head Teacher will provide supervision and support to on-site Special Education Teachers working in both our Mapleton School and our Devereux Day Academy. This position is as 52-week teaching opportunity.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

• Please note that you will work 4 days in Malvern and 1 day in Norristown
• Every day as a Head Teacher you will: Provide support and supervision to educational staff.

Assist in the development and implementation of the administration of the school program. Own supervision of IEPs and IEP process & complete initial transition of IEP for new students within 30 days Co-teach/push into classrooms to assist teacher adoption of new skills. Serve as a building-level leader in core and supplementary curricular resources.

A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student's progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades K-8 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Intellectual Disability, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, Specific Learning Disability, and Speech or Language Impairment. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of our partner school districts. This alignment will facilitate smooth transitions to and from the program for your students. B.S. degree in Special Education & current Instructional I or Instructional II PA special education certification .PA Educational Supervisory Certificate preferred.

EXPERIENCE
