Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

- Monday- Friday usually 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Schools located in Malvern
SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY
- Conduct Functional Vision Assessments (FVA) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA) to determine the best learning tools (e.g., print, braille, audio).
- Interpret eye reports and explain the educational implications of eye conditions to the team.
- Monitor progress, write reports, and adjust instructional strategies.
Instructional Services:
- Teach Braille (literary and Nemeth code) to blind students.
- Provide instruction in Assistive Technology (screen readers, braille notetakers, magnifiers).
- Teach Compensatory and Independent Living Skills, including organization and sensory efficiency.
- Support Orientation & Mobility skills, working with specialists to ensure safety
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree required
- PA Substitute Teaching Certification or willing to go through emergency certification/ Building sub permit process
- PA State Criminal,Child Abuse clearance, FBI from the department of Education
