Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the special education caseload Bachelor's degree required (necessary for emergency teaching permit) Previous experience working within a school environment, preferably in urban settings Demonstrated mastery of special education subject matter, instructional strategies, and resource materials Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities Proficient at creating innovative lesson plans aligned with state/district standards and differentiated instruction Ability to complete all required PA clearances Reliable transportation to ensure your punctuality and consistent attendance Comfortable working independently on-site at Main Street Elementary and with district routines Availability Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; all hours required
Role Responsibilities:
Design and deliver lessons tailored to drive student progress, using formative assessments and data Foster an inclusive classroom with a focus on safety, engagement, and positive behavior Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to meet varied student needs Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and school leadership Maintain accurate documentation related to student performance and goals
