Job Description
The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and modifying instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Essential Job Functions
Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated, data-driven instruction tailored to students' individual goals in both pull-out (specialized) and push-in (co-taught) settings.
Implement student IEPs with fidelity, ensuring all accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction (SDI) are provided in compliance with state and federal laws.
Partner closely with general education teachers, guidance counselors, speech therapists, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
Administer formal and informal assessments, collect rigorous academic and behavioral data, and maintain accurate records to track student progress toward IEP goals.
Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), utilize de-escalation strategies, and foster a safe, supportive classroom culture that aligns with Middle School expectations.
Maintain regular, professional communication with parents, guardians, and administration regarding student growth, behavioral data, and academic performance.
Maintain active supervision of students during instructional and non-instructional periods (e.g., transitions, lunch, or arrival/dismissal) to ensure a safe learning environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Valid and active Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (Special Education PK-12, 7-12, or PreK-8 depending on exact grade assignment).
Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum, inclusive practices, differentiated instruction, and behavior management strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Mandatory Clearances:
Current and valid PA state-mandated clearances required prior to hire.
