Desired Qualifications:
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate is required Experience or a strong interest in working with students on the autism spectrum Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional aides (PCAs) and multidisciplinary teams Outstanding communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic classroom setting
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction to students with autism, following IEP goals and best practices for special education Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment Work closely with PCA support staff in the classroom to address each student's needs Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to varying learning levels Track student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings Encourage student independence, social skills, and academic growth This role offers a regular Monday to Friday schedule, from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, giving you a balanced workday while maintaining strong connections with students.
