Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Experienced special education professionals have an opportunity to make a significant impact supporting students in elementary and middle school grades. This contract position offers a dynamic environment serving K-6th grade students in floating classrooms, providing both emotional support and learning support services.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in K-12 Special Education is strongly preferred. Emergency-certified educators with a minimum of two years' relevant experience may be considered if enrolled in a teacher preparation program or preparing for the Praxis exam and full certification. Demonstrated expertise in case management and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is essential. Experience working with students requiring both emotional and academic support in K-6 settings. Ability to adapt to varied classroom situations and support diverse learning needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver special education services to a caseload of K-6th grade students, rotating as needed across settings. Provide emotional and learning support in accordance with each student's IEP. Collaborate with general education teachers and school teams to maximize student engagement and success. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and resilience. Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress. Ensure accurate documentation and timely compliance with all IEP-related requirements.
