Qualifications:

Current Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in Special Education (PK8 or equivalent) Previous experience teaching in a special education setting, especially for grades 14 Familiarity and hands-on experience with TEACCH, PECS, ABA, or other structured teaching models Training in restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, or positive behavior supports preferred

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary classroom teacher for a therapeutic learning environment Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and tailor instruction for diverse student needs Apply evidence-based teaching methods including TEACCH, PECS, ABA, and structured teaching Foster a caring, safe classroom community using trauma-informed and restorative practices Collaborate with support staff and families to maximize student growth Maintain consistent documentation and progress reporting
