Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A virtual opportunity is available for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position involves working 20 hours per week to provide specialized educational services tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Wisconsin state processes related to special education.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) specifically designed for virtual learning environments. Deliver direct instruction and consultative services according to student IEP requirements. Collect, document, and analyze data tracking student progress towards IEP goals. Participate actively in virtual IEP meetings, ensuring full compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Collaborate effectively with educational teams to meet student needs remotely.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in the state of Wisconsin. Thorough knowledge of Wisconsin's special education procedures and regulations. Strong skills in virtual instruction and technology use applicable to remote teaching. Ability to create engaging, accessible, and effective virtual learning plans. Exceptional communication skills for collaborating within virtual teams and with families.
