Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing - Telehealth Job Type Contract Seeking a specialized educator with expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction through telehealth services. This contract position focuses on supporting a student who requires access to a DHH professional during the midday hours from 12:28 PM to 1:15 PM daily. The role involves delivering targeted, high-quality educational support in a school setting located in South Haven, MI.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional support to a student with hearing loss via telehealth. Utilize the voco toolkit iPad to facilitate communication and learning. Collaborate to break up the student's day, ensuring consistent engagement and access to DHH services. Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed. Maintain clear and timely communication with the educational team involved in the student's success.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote instructional methods. Knowledge of assistive technologies including the voco toolkit. Strong communication skills suited for virtual learning environments. Ability to tailor lessons to the individual needs of the student.
