This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, and offers the chance to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families. There are two immediate openings for skilled Special Education Teachers dedicated to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid Alaska teaching license and required certifications for Special Education (proof of licensure and Type C certification requiredplease provide copies or certification numbers with your application) Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher in K-12 settings preferred Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Passion for creating equitable classroom experiences

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address student needs and comply with federal and state laws Design lesson plans and deliver engaging instruction tailored to varying ability levels Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school-based support staff to promote student growth Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate progress records Communicate with families regarding student progress and support resources Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere This assignment is in-person only (remote/virtual options are not available), offering professionals the chance to engage closely with students, colleagues, and the local community.
