Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role where you'll empower students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to thrive academically and personally. This contract opportunity, running from now through the end of the school year, offers an engaging environment serving K-12 students just outside Troy, NY. Working 2-3 days per week, you'll make a real impact—providing adapted instruction, advocacy, and skilled support to ensure every learner's voice is heard. Ideal candidates are dedicated educators who bring expertise in DHH support, paired with flexibility and compassion. Qualifications:

Valid New York State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Previous experience working with students across the K-12 range Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students Proficiency using assistive technology and accommodations for hearing-impaired learners Strong communication and collaborative skills with staff, students, and families Comfortable with in-person, virtual, and hybrid instructional settings

Responsibilities:

Deliver differentiated instruction to meet varying student needs Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to promote inclusion and success Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support Utilize technology to support remote and blended learning models as needed Foster an inclusive, supportive, and accessible learning environment Take advantage of flexible scheduling and the chance to support a diverse community of learners.
