Key Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required Previous experience in school settings, particularly serving students with visual impairments, is preferred Strong documentation skills and willingness to complete daily service logs Flexibility to work with a range of age groups based on student needs and personal experience, determined in consultation during the interview process Excellent communication and organizational abilities Commitment to working onsite; remote/virtual instruction is not an option for this role
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering direct instructional services and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Conducting ongoing assessments of student progress and adjusting interventions as needed Offering consultative support and training to staff and families Keeping thorough, timely daily service records in accordance with school district protocols Participating in pre/post-planning days to ensure a smooth transition for all students served This role is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and will continue through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of pre- or post-planning based on district needs. Full-time hours are available (at least 37.5 hours per week); part-time may be considered depending on availability and district requirements.
