This full-time, contract opportunity is based on-site near Providence, RI, and actively welcomes travel educators seeking to make a meaningful difference in students lives over a long-term assignment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric learners preferred Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and braille instruction Skilled in individualized lesson planning and IEP implementation Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized instruction to a visually impaired student, fostering academic and functional skill growth Collaborate closely with IEP teams to monitor progress and adjust strategies accordingly Adapt and create accessible classroom materials tailored to student needs Employ creative problem-solving to address unique learning challenges Maintain thorough documentation of ongoing student development and instructional methods Serve as a supportive resource for families and school staff regarding best practices for visual impairment accommodations
