Youll work in a specialized classroom environment designed to foster safety, growth, and individualized success, with an assignment running through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Candidate Qualifications:

Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license valid for secondary education Demonstrated ability to provide targeted support to students in self-contained or sub-separate settings, particularly those with EBD or intense behavioral needs Compliance with the Right to Read Act by being certified inor committing to completeRhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within the first year of employment Strong collaborative skills for coordinating with general education staff, service providers, and support personnel Experience with the development and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), progress monitoring, and behavioral intervention strategies

What Youll Do:

Provide individualized academic instruction and behavioral support to high school students in a self-contained classroom Develop and implement IEPs, adapting lessons and interventions to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic support for each student Maintain regular communication with families regarding student growth and challenges Implement evidence-based strategies to manage behaviors and cultivate a positive, structured classroom community This is a 35-hour per week contract position beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 18, 2027, providing ample opportunity to form lasting connections and create transformative change for your students.
