Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the growth of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a high-functioning Life Skills classroom in an elementary setting. This full-time role spans from mid-October through mid-January and provides the chance to leave a real impact during a vital maternity leave coverage. As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will lead a class of approximately eight students, assisted by three talented teaching assistants, in a structured and inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Special Education Teaching Certificate required Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those with high-functioning life skills needs Proven ability to manage and inspire a small classroom with the support of teaching assistants Strong collaboration and communication skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with students IEP goals Adapt lessons and materials for diverse learning needs while promoting independence and self-confidence Collaborate with teaching assistants, general education staff, and families to support student success Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings as necessary Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom atmosphere
Position Details & Highlights:
Full-time, onsite contract running from approximately 10/16/2026 to 1/15/2027 Day shift hours: 8:15 am3:45 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch Serve as a leader and mentor for a close-knit student group and TAs Opportunity to make a positive difference during a crucial period for students and colleagues alike If you thrive in hands-on settings and have a passion for shaping student lives, we encourage you to apply today.
