Qualifications and Experience:

Hold a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for the appropriate grade band (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary) Certified in, or willing to achieve within one year of hire, Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency (Right to Read Act compliance) Experience working with students with EBD or significant behavioral challenges preferred Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities Commitment to inclusive practices and culturally responsive teaching

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction to high school students in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment, utilizing positive behavior supports Collaborate with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers Track student progress, maintain data records, and participate in IEP meetings Engage families in supporting student growth and development This position runs through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, offering consistent hours and a high-impact setting to truly shape young lives.
