This position is ideal for candidates with expertise in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing and are eager to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic school environment. Conveniently located just 20 minutes northeast of Columbia, SC, this role offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated team and engage with students of varying ages and abilities.

Key Qualifications:

Valid state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or eligibility to obtain Experience or training in providing instructional support to DHH students in school settings Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities is highly desirable Strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and strategies to meet individualized student needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to DHH students, ensuring access to curriculum and facilitating academic progress Create and modify lesson plans adapted to students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Conduct regular assessments to monitor and document progress toward educational goals Provide guidance to classroom teachers regarding best practices for integrating DHH students Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists as needed Engage families by communicating student achievements and strategies for success This is a contract assignment and offers a welcoming school culture and opportunities for continued professional development.
