Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting new opportunity for a skilled Special Education Teacher who thrives in a vibrant elementary learning environment. This full-time contract position offers the chance to support K-5th grade students in a resource setting located near Charleston, SC. The role requires both a passion for inclusive education and experience utilizing EdPlan to drive student success.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Previous experience working with K-5th grade students in a resource or similar setting Familiarity and proficiency with EdPlan for planning and documentation Strong collaboration and communication skills Commitment to fostering a supportive and equitable classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction to K-5 students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs using EdPlan Work collaboratively with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure student progress Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, performance, and strategies for continued growth Engage in ongoing assessment and data collection to monitor student achievement and adjust instruction as needed Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports both social and academic development Take advantage of a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young learners while gaining new experiences on a supportive school team.
