Required Qualifications & Experience:

Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching certification. Prior experience working with students with severe disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom. Strong understanding of IEP processes and the ability to differentiate instruction. Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary team members. Demonstrated ability to create a structured, positive, and safe learning environment. Effective communication skills to engage with families, school personnel, and support staff.

Core Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized instruction as outlined in each students IEP. Adapt curriculum materials and teaching approaches to address the wide range of needs. Monitor, document, and report student progress to inform ongoing instruction and updates to IEPs. Support students academic achievement alongside functional, behavioral, and daily living skills growth. Participate in IEP meetings, actively contributing insights and recommendations for student plans. Maintain a classroom environment that is well-managed, supportive, and conducive to learning. Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrative staff.
