A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license required LD (Learning Disabilities) certification or Multi-Categorical certification Prior special education teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level Strong collaboration skills for inclusion and push-in models Excellent case management abilitiesResponsibilities:
Serve a middle school caseload with a mix of inclusion (push-in) and case management support Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general educators, families, and support staff Track and report student progress, ensuring compliance with all regulations Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environmentBenefits:
