Job Description

Step into a rewarding role empowering young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Hartsville, SC. This full-time, contract opportunity invites passionate educators to guide and inspire students in both lower and middle school environments. You'll have the possibility to work in either a self-contained classroom with K-2 students (multi-categorical) or support middle school learners, either in a resource room or self-contained setting, depending on your experience and preference.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience or strong interest in working with multi-categorical populations Background with K-2 or middle school age groups Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong classroom management skills Collaborative spirit to work alongside general education staff, families, and administrators Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support in academic, social, and behavioral domains Develop, implement, and monitor progress towards IEP goals Adapt and modify curriculum to suit diverse learning needs Foster a supportive, positive, and structured environment for all students Maintain accurate records and collaborate in IEP meetings Employ proactive behavioral strategies and support positive peer interactions Communicate regularly with families and related service professionals Stay current with Special Education best practices and compliance requirements
