Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful position supporting elementary students with mild intellectual disabilities as a Special Education Teacher. Serving in a core replacement classroom, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact while collaborating with a dedicated school community. This contract role begins immediately, offering a chance to put your skills and passion into action right away.

Key Qualifications:

Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) certification is required Classroom experience or strong understanding of working with students with mild intellectual disabilities Strong knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, and developing individual learning plans Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs in a supportive classroom environment Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Duties:

Deliver focused instruction within a core replacement setting for elementary students Create, implement, and monitor instruction tailored to each student's IEP Adjust grade-level curriculum and teaching strategies to individual learning profiles Track and document student progress, communicating effectively with families and staff Coordinate with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support each student's academic and social success Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom culture Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing to meaningful goal setting In this rewarding and impactful role, you'll help students build skills, confidence, and a love for learning.
