Our teachers are expected to build meaningful relationships, support each child's development, and help create a caring environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Duties Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Follow all required cleaning, sanitizing, and classroom-maintenance procedures. Implement the assigned curriculum and prepare developmentally appropriate learning activities. Actively engage with children during lessons, learning centers, play, meals, and daily routines. Use the center's childcare-management software to provide families with timely updates throughout the day. Accurately document meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, naps, activities, and other required information. Communicate professionally with families about their child's daily experiences. Follow all South Carolina DSS regulations, state requirements, and Country Day Academy policies. Maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios and active supervision at all times. Accurately track children during arrivals, departures, and transitions between areas. Complete required name-to-face checks and classroom counts. Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, or policy violations to administration. Work cooperatively with teaching partners and other staff to meet the needs of every child. Requirements Prior experience working with children in a classroom or daycare setting is essential Knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math concepts, and preschool teaching methodologies Demonstrated ability in classroom management and behavior management techniques Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child welfare is preferred Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and early intervention strategies is advantageous Experience with curriculum development, tutoring, or teaching physical education enhances your candidacy Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the classroom Join us as a Team Teacher and help shape the future by inspiring young minds!
