Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required Active state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a 1:1 capacity Commitment to long-term placement Strong communication, organization, and student-advocacy skills Adaptability and an enthusiasm for working as part of a support team
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver customized instruction to meet the specific learning needs of a visually impaired student Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement IEP goals Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to promote accessibility Use a range of assistive technologies and resources to enhance student engagement Track and report student progress, ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines Offer guidance and support to school staff on best practices in visual impairment education
