In this role, you will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners during the afternoon hours, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall child development in accordance with early childhood education standards. Manage classroom activities to ensure a positive, inclusive, and structured environment that supports behavior management and classroom management best practices. Provide individualized support for children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services, adapting teaching strategies as necessary. Foster strong communication with parents or guardians through regular updates on children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Maintain accurate documentation of child progress, attendance, and adherence to mandated reporting laws for child welfare concerns. Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times by practicing first aid and CPR when necessary and maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom activities, and assessments to promote consistent educational experiences across the program. Skills Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and preschool teaching methodologies including Montessori approaches. Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for young children. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators to foster a supportive learning environment. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and experience implementing standardized testing or assessments when applicable. Demonstrated skills in lesson planning for diverse learners including toddlers and preschoolers; experience in literacy education is highly valued. Certification in first aid and CPR; experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is preferred. Knowledge of physical education activities suitable for young children; experience in tutoring or supporting childhood development initiatives is advantageous.
