Part-Time Contract Job Summary Wando Search Partners is seeking an experienced South Carolina Certified Special Education Teacher to provide part-time Special Education case management support for a middle school charter school in North Charleston. This role is an excellent opportunity for a SPED professional who enjoys supporting students, collaborating with educators, and helping ensure students receive high-quality special education services. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IEPs, monitoring student progress, participating in IEP meetings, and maintaining compliance documentation. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity requiring approximately 8 hours per week in person with 1-2 IEP Virtual meetings a week. Flexibility in scheduling, can be one or multiple days during week at the school meeting with the kids. Availability for student progress monitoring sessions and scheduled IEP meetings will be required and can be virtually attended. Responsibilities Serve as the Special Education case manager for approximately 35 middle school students Monitor progress toward student IEP goals through regular student check-ins and data collection Conduct approximately one progress monitoring session per student each week Review and analyze student performance data to determine progress toward IEP goals Complete IEP progress reports and required documentation within EdPlan Develop Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) information for annual IEP reviews Participate as the SPED-certified team member during IEP meetings Present student progress data and assist with development and revisions of IEPs Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, related service providers, families, and school support staff Partner with the School Psychologist as needed to collect information and data related to student evaluations Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements
Qualifications Required:
Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification Experience managing IEPs and special education documentation Knowledge of special education compliance requirements and best practices Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school teams
Preferred:
Middle school special education experience Experience serving as an IEP case manager Experience with EdPlan or similar special education documentation systems Position Details Approximately 8-10 hours per week Flexible scheduling available Primarily in-person at a North Charleston charter school Start date: Late August 2026 Competitive hourly contract rate based on experience Why Consider This Opportunity?
