Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal regulations to meet each student's unique needs Design engaging lesson plans incorporating curriculum development, instructional modifications, and educational technology integration Utilize evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies to support students with behavioral challenges Collaborate effectively with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive student support Manage classroom environments to promote positive behavior, safety, and active participation among students Conduct assessments, monitor progress through standardized testing, and adjust instructional approaches accordingly Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements Support early intervention initiatives and contribute to childhood development goals within the classroom setting Incorporate literacy education, math instruction, and communication skills development into daily activities Ensure compliance with special education law and documentation requirements while maintaining accurate records
Requirements:
Valid teaching certification in special education or equivalent qualification Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in elementary or preschool settings Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders support strategies and experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring tools, and standardized testing procedures Strong understanding of behavior management for students with developmental disabilities Experience integrating educational technology tools into lesson planning and instruction Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is preferred Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes growth for all learners If you are passionate about special education and eager to empower students through innovative teaching practices, we encourage you to apply.
