Key Qualifications:

Active South Carolina certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI) Previous experience delivering specialized instruction to visually impaired or blind students Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies and braille instruction Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to visually impaired students in accordance with their IEPs Adapt curriculum materials, modify classroom environments, and teach braille as needed Provide orientation, mobility, and assistive technology support Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and IEP compliance Partner with general education teachers and related specialists to facilitate student success Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about goals, progress, and strategies Participate actively in team meetings, training, and professional development
