A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
$2200 weekly Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with Multi-Categorical (Multi-Cat/MC) experience to support elementary school students during the 2026-2027 school year. This position combines Multi-Categorical classroom instruction with Resource Pull-Out services . The teacher will have approximately 5 students on the MC classroom roster while also providing specialized Resource support to General Education students in grades 1-6. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students in a Multi-Categorical Special Education classroom Manage an MC classroom roster of approximately 5 students Provide Resource Pull-Out services to students from General Education classrooms Support students in grades 1-6 , based on student needs and service requirements Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Create and deliver differentiated and individualized instruction Monitor student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress Maintain accurate special education documentation and student records Collaborate with General Education teachers, Resource teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families Implement accommodations, modifications, and appropriate instructional strategies Support students in accessing the general education curriculum Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the educational team Required Qualifications SC Multi-Categorical (Multi-Categorical/MC) teaching license or credential
REQUIRED
