Job Summary:

Forest Hills Elementary is seeking two qualified Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is ideal for an experienced or newly qualified educator who is passionate about supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs and helping them succeed academically and socially. The Special Education Teacher will serve in a Multi-Categorical (MC) Classroom and Resource Pull-Out capacity. The teacher will have approximately five students assigned to the MC classroom roster while also providing specialized Resource services to students from General Education classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction to students in a Multi-Categorical Special Education classroom. Manage an MC classroom roster of approximately five students. Provide Resource Pull-Out services to eligible General Education students. Support students in approximately one or two grade levels based on enrollment and service needs. Develop and implement instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as appropriate. Collaborate with General Education teachers, Special Education staff, administrators, and other school personnel. Maintain appropriate educational documentation and student records. Support a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Help ensure students receive services consistent with their educational needs and IEPs.

Requirements:

Valid South Carolina Multi-Categorical (SC Multi-Categorical) Special Education credential/license . 1 year of SPED Teacher Experience Ability to work a full school-day schedule, Monday through Friday. Commitment to supporting elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs.

Preferred:

Experience with Multi-Categorical classrooms. Experience providing Resource/Pull-Out services. Experience working with elementary school students. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
