Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity shaping young learners' lives in a full-time, contract role for a Special Education Teacher in a preschool self-contained setting. This position is ideal for dedicated professionals with an active South Carolina SLP license, eager to support a focused, manageable caseload of fewer than 10 students (subject to change). Your expertise will ensure students with varying needs receive effective instruction and compassionate guidance during this school year.
Key Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina SLP License Experience working in preschool or early childhood special education preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Adaptability to potential changes in caseload (which may shift if the district combines preschool and K-4 programming) Commitment to inclusive, student-centered practices
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing students' unique needs Teach and support preschool students with a range of abilities within a self-contained classroom Collaborate closely with families, paraprofessionals, and school teams to promote student growth Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust instruction as needed Foster a safe, supportive learning environment to encourage social, emotional, and academic development Maintain compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations This assignment is available ASAP and continues through the end of the school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact right away.
