Job Description

Working Title Temporary Teacher Subs Posting Number T00284P Department USD-Head Start Physical Location of Position (City) Vermillion Posting Text USD Head Start has openings for Substitute Center Teachers and Substitute Center Teacher Aides/Food Service workers. These positions are funded by grants/other non-state funds.
Teacher Aide/Food Service Worker Substitutes:
Experience working with children is preferred. Supervise children ages 3-5 in a classroom setting to replace a staff who is absent under the direction of a classroom teacher. This may involve assisting with meal preparation and clean-up, eating with children, assisting children with routines (toileting and handwashing), supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities. Classroom locations include Beresford, Elk Point, Dakota Valley, Canton, Harrisburg, Tea and 3 locations in Vermillion.
Center Teacher Substitutes:
Education or related degree and experience working with children is preferred. Substitutes will lead activities and supervise children ages 3-5 in classroom setting to replace a staff who is absent. This may involve leading large and small group activities following a lesson plan, eating with children, assisting children with routines (toileting and hand washing), and supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities. Classroom locations include Beresford, Elk Point, Dakota Valley, Canton, Harrisburg, Tea and 3 locations in Vermillion. Applicants must pass background checks and must provide own transportation to sites.
