Key Qualifications & Requirements:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Must possess a 461 endorsement. Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged students in a Life-Skills setting. Ability to adapt lessons and classroom environment to suit learners' individual needs. Effective communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom.

Responsiblities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that target both academic and life-skill goals. Collaborate with another Special Education Teacher to manage a balanced caseload, expected to be 7-8 students. Utilize paraprofessional support strategically to provide targeted instruction and classroom management. Monitor and document student progress; communicate regularly with families and staff. Employ positive behavioral interventions and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional learning opportunities, and IEP conferences as needed.
