Make a significant impact as an educator specializing in Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) support! This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to work with K-12 students in a vibrant school setting near the northern Nashville suburbs. Educators passionate about fostering communication, literacy, and accessibility will thrive here, crafting specialized learning environments and supporting students individual needs. In this role, youll collaborate with a dynamic team to provide essential DHH services, for a caseload spanning kindergarten through high school. Assignments across school sites may shift based on program requirements, providing variety and valuable experience in different classroom settings.
Key qualifications:
Current Tennessee Department of Education DHH certification K-12 teaching experience (open to all experience levels) Understanding of instructional strategies and assistive technology for DHH students Ability to adapt communication methods for diverse learners Completion of background check and fingerprinting (district-assisted process) Commitment to ongoing professional development Responsibilities include: Delivering direct and consultative instruction to students with varying levels of hearing loss Supporting IEP implementation and collaborating on student plans Consulting with staff and families to promote successful learning Keeping accurate records and contributing to assessment and progress reports Participating in school meetings and supporting overall student success Enjoy a structured school-year schedule (Monday-Friday, full-time), the fulfillment of seeing your expertise transform student experiences, and the benefit of working with supportive colleagues.
