This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work with K-12 students across a range of schools, including specialized hubs for Pre-K through elementary and an expanding program for middle schoolers. You'll collaborate closely with school teams to provide consultative support tailored to students' unique communication and educational needs.

Desired Qualifications:

Active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) teaching certificate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Previous experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Solid understanding of age-appropriate educational strategies for DHH students, K-12 Confidence consulting with general education staff, families, and support teams to promote inclusion and access Ability to travel to various school sites within the district, as caseloads and assignments may shift TN Fingerprints or willingness to complete fingerprinting process for credentialing prior to start

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver educational and consultative services to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Assess student needs and support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) Work with interdisciplinary teams to create accessible learning environments Collaborate with families, school administrators, and support service providers Promote best practices and advocate for appropriate resources and adaptations
