9529961-37363 Job Description Empower students with visual impairments to thrive in an educational setting by supporting their individual needs across a diverse K-12+ caseload. This fulfilling contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working full-time (35 hours per week) in a dynamic environment for the academic year, with consideration given for part-time schedules if preferred. Your expertise will be crucial, as the majority of your caseload will be divided between elementary, middle, and high school studentsboth in general education and specialized classrooms. As an itinerant professional, you'll travel between schools, with assignments thoughtfully grouped to minimize travel time.
What Youll Bring:
Valid and active DOE Certification Proficiency in Braille Comfort using a range of assistive technologies (bonus for Federal Quota program know-how) Experience supporting K-12+ learners, including those with multiple disabilities Familiarity with the IEP process and participation in meetings (TN Pulse experience a plus) Ability to work effectively across general education and specialized settings Reliable transportation for travel between campuses Willingness to complete fingerprinting and timely credentialing Flexibility in schedule and adapting to varied school environments
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and resources to students with visual impairments Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to optimize student outcomes Advise on the use and troubleshooting of assistive technology Contribute to the development and review of IEPs using the TN Pulse platform Facilitate access to curriculum and activities for visually impaired students This opportunity offers the chance to rebuild and shape services after a year of vacant positions, letting you contribute fresh ideas and enthusiasm.
