Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing! This full-time contract opportunity offers rewarding work supporting K-12 learners in an engaging educational environment in the northern suburbs of the Nashville area. Youll provide direct and consultative services, working collaboratively to meet students unique needs and help them succeed throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing required School-based experience welcome at all levels; open to those with 0-2 years and those with 10+ years of expertise Strong understanding of educational strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Willingness to complete a background form and district-scheduled fingerprinting prior to start Excellent communication skills and adaptability for varying caseloads and school assignments
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring access to the general curriculum Collaborate with general and special education staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Conduct assessments and contribute to progress monitoring and ongoing documentation Travel between schools as needed, with caseload and assignment details determined by student and district needs Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, adapting instructional materials and approaches Participate in relevant meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development This assignment is onsite-only, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours per week, running through 5/20/26.
