is hiring a new Special Education Teacher for a dynamic school committed to excellence and equity. This full-time role offers a chance to support students with a variety of disabilities and help them reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver research-based, specialized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Educational Program (IEP). Assess student progress regularly and modify teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes. Develop and implement annual IEPs that identify educational performance levels, goals, and required services. Collaborate with team members and families to create personalized learning environments that meet students' needs. Create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum. Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance and support continuous student growth. Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture focused on achievement and emotional well-being. Participate actively in professional development and school community activities.

What We're Looking For Must-Have:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Valid TN teaching certification in K-12, 6-8, or 6-12 with appropriate special education endorsement. Minimum 1 year of teaching experience with middle school students; 2+ years preferred. Experience working with students who have disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, or developmental delays. Passion for serving educationally underserved students and supporting their success.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience teaching in an urban school or charter network. Knowledge of behavioral and emotional disabilities. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
