r41540-37861 Job Description Special Education Teacher (SPED) | Rutledge, Tennessee Step into a rewarding Special Education Teacher opportunity in Rutledge, Tennessee, supporting students across elementary and middle school settings. This full-time position is ideal for a compassionate and dedicated SPED educator who holds a Tennessee Special Education Teaching Certification with a 461 Comprehensive Endorsement and is ready to make an immediate impact. This position is available ASAP through December to provide coverage for two teachers on maternity leave. The role will be split between an elementary school and a middle school, both located on the same campus. With small class sizes of approximately 810 students per classroom, youll have the opportunity to provide individualized instruction and meaningful support in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Tennessee Special Education Teaching Certification required
• 461 Comprehensive SPED Endorsement required
• Special Education teaching experience preferred
• Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to provide differentiated and individualized instruction
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs

Schedule:

• Full-time position
• 37.5 hours per week
• 5 days per week
• Start date: ASAP
• Assignment end date: December
• Position will be split between one elementary school and one middle school on the same campus

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students receiving special education services
• Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies based on student needs
• Support students in achieving academic, behavioral, and developmental goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, families, and related service providers
• Maintain accurate student documentation and progress records
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and IEP-related services as appropriate
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
