What You'll Bring:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification, including a current 461 endorsement Experience or a strong interest in teaching children with diverse learning needs, particularly for life-skills curriculum Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and integrating evidence-based instructional strategies Strong communication skills for collaborating with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and families Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
What You'll Do:
Instruct and support a caseload of 7-8 elementary students in grades K-4, within a shared classroom model Develop, adapt, and implement individualized lesson plans focused on life skills and functional academics Partner with another Special Education Teacher to share responsibility for the class Collaborate daily with paraprofessional support staff to optimize student engagement and learning outcomes Monitor and document consistent student progress, ensuring effective communication with families and school teams Create a positive, structured environment where each child's unique abilities are valued and built upon Enjoy the encouragement and teamwork of dedicated professionals, access to paraprofessional assistance, and a chance to grow your expertise in special education settings.
