    • Position Responsibilities
    • + Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) + Provide instruction in: + Functional academics + Daily living skills + Communication skills + Social skills + Vocational and pre-employment skills + Community-based and independent living skills + Adapt curriculum and assessments to meet individual student needs + Monitor student progress and maintain special education documentation + Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior specialists, school staff, and families + Supervise paraprofessionals and classroom support staff + Create a structured, safe, and positive learning environment •Position Details•+ Middle School Life Skills Classroom + Classroom size: 8-12 students +

    Level 2 + Virtual client interview required + Full-time schedule
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred + Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification + Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred + Experience working with students with special needs and IEPs preferred + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age

    The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
    • Minimum Requirements:
    • + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations + Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred + State Teacher Certification;

    Endorsement:
    Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age
