Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field. Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Solid understanding of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), and auditory-verbal techniques. Experience developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing differences. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students' families, and general education staff. Creative, flexible approach to learning and instructional strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades and ability levels. Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional methods to optimize learning outcomes. Offer consultative support to classroom teachers, support staff, and families about accessibility and communication needs. Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with school and regulatory requirements. Advocate for student participation and equal access in all aspects of the school community.
