Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming, supportive school setting near Daisetta, TX. You'll work onsite in a self-contained classroom, providing expert instruction and care for up to 12 students with diverse needs, including autism, sensory processing challenges, social and emotional disturbances, and both high and low functioning abilities. Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Valid Texas Special Education (SPED) teaching license (required) Previous experience leading or assisting in a self-contained classroom preferred Comfort supporting students with varying abilities, including non-verbal communication styles and the use of AAC devices Strong understanding of behavioral and sensory intervention strategies Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach to teaching Ability to assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to each students IEP Support students with communication, social, and emotional development goals Implement adaptive strategies and technology, including AAC devices Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, families, and administrators to optimize student outcomes Provide supervision and assist with daily living activities This role provides an excellent opportunity for Special Education professionals to create meaningful impact, while enjoying steady, full-time hours and a supportive teaching environment.
