Step into a dynamic role supporting elementary students in an inclusive behavior program designed for those with disabilities. This contract opportunity provides a chance to make a meaningful impact as a FOCUS Teacher, delivering specialized instruction and behavioral guidance to approximately 12-15 students across various grade levels. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher or Behavior Specialist will shine as you foster a positive environment, guiding students toward academic and behavioral success. Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team and help shape individualized strategies for classroom management, social-emotional growth, and educational development.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Behavior Specialist Strong background in behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports Ability to manage and track student cases and implement individualized education plans Skilled at building trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management abilities Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for students with diverse abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and behavioral intervention to students in an inclusion classroom Develop, monitor, and report on individualized education and behavioral support plans Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and family members to implement effective strategies Maintain records and documentation in compliance with school and district requirements Redirection, reinforcement, and crisis intervention as needed Serve as case manager for assigned students, advocating for necessary support and resources This position runs through 5/21/27, giving you the chance to build continuity and deep connections with students across academic years.
