•Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Garland, TX area. This contract opportunity will have you working within a collaborative school community, making a meaningful impact while enjoying a consistent weekday schedule. You'll be placed where your skills best align, ranging from elementary to high school environments, with assignments set to continue through the end of the school year. Your schedule will vary based on placement:

Elementary:

8:00 AM

•3:30

PM Middle/High School:

8:20 AM

•3:50

PM Intermediate:

7:30 AM

•3:00 PM Please note, teachers typically arrive 30 minutes prior to start time.

Ideal Candidates Will Bring:

Valid Texas Department of Education teaching license Special Education EC-12 certification (required) Generalist/Core certification for EC-6 or 6-12 (preferred) Recent experience in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) processes Confidence managing self-contained or resource/inclusion caseloads Commitment to maintaining professional dress in accordance with school policy

Daily Responsibilities Include:

Developing and implementing differentiated lesson plans for students with a variety of needs Collaborating with colleagues and paraprofessionals to ensure a supportive classroom environment Building relationships with students and families Attending and contributing to ARD meetings Documenting student progress and adjusting strategies as needed What's in it for you?
