What Were Looking For:
Valid Texas Special Education Teacher License (TX SPED) Experience working in self-contained or highly supported classroom settings preferred Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing issues, and social/emotional needs Knowledge of AAC devices and alternative communication methods Compassion, patience, and creative problem-solving skills
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Lead instructional activities tailored to individual educational plans (IEPs) Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning and personal growth Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to implement supportive strategies Provide toileting and personal care assistance as needed Track and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction Encourage the development of communication, social, and functional skills
