A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Swim Instructor - Special Needs Program Make a Difference. Teach Lifesaving Skills. Change Lives. British Swim School is looking for a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to work with children and adults with special needs. Our mission is to teach water survival skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment while helping every swimmer build confidence and independence. No previous swim teaching experience is required—we provide comprehensive paid training! What You'll Do Teach swim lessons using the British Swim School curriculum. Provide individualized instruction for swimmers with a variety of physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities. Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment. Communicate swimmer progress with parents and caregivers. Prioritize safety while making lessons engaging and rewarding. Work closely with management and fellow instructors to support each swimmer's success.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Patient, kind, and encouraging Passionate about helping others succeed Comfortable working with children and adults with diverse abilities Reliable, professional, and dependable Energetic and enjoys being in the water An excellent communicator with both swimmers and families Qualifications Comfortable working in the water Able to lift up to 50 pounds Reliable transportation Not required but a plus Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (training opportunities available) Previous experience in education, therapy, childcare, special education, ABA, nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or recreation is helpful but not required We Offer Paid training with no prior swim instructor experience required Flexible scheduling Competitive hourly pay A supportive team environment Opportunities for advancement The chance to make a lasting impact in the lives of swimmers and their families If you're looking for a rewarding job where every lesson helps build confidence, independence, and lifesaving skills, we'd love to meet you!
